In this still unpolluted landscape there are flourishing areas of farmland built one above another, pretty farmhouses and climbing up into the mountains, chestnut woods, and on the highest peaks, dense beech woods. The steep hillsides descending towards the southern coast are cut off by breathtaking gorges that offer visitors a lively and evocative landscape.
