A lovely two-bedroom Lake Como vacation apartment located just below the town of Perledo on the hillside above Varenna. Varenna is an elegant village on the Eastern shore of Italy's Lake of Como. The beauty of the area is clearly evident in the beautiful historic buildings, the romantic views, and impressive landscapes. A distinctive feature of Varenna is it's mild climate; olive & cypress trees abound as well as many other variety's of lush, tropical plants, typical if the lake. Varenna enjoys abundant sunshine & warmth right into the evening.
The apartment is on the ground floor level, sleeps up to 4 people and has a small garden fronting the apartment, overlooking Lake Como. The interior is elegantly furnished to blend with the magnificent panoramic views of the lake. There is an open plan, fully fitted kitchen, dining and living area. Enjoy dining 'al fresco' in the garden while enjoying the beautiful sunsets over Menaggio, on the opposite side of the lake. Shared swimming pool.
There is a spacious parking space within the grounds of the residence.
Varenna may be the most picturesque town on the lake, its steep winding alleys lined with charming homes, flowering balconies and lace-curtained windows. Just above it is the ancient castle where Theodolinda, Queen of the Lombards, is said to have died in the 7th century. Two famed villas to visit here are Villa Cipressi, with terraced gardens cascading right down to the shores, and Villa Monastero, a true showcase. Castello di Vezio, a 13th-century medieval castle is also worth a visit - a delightful 20 min walk from Vista D'Oro - a must-see for visitors to the area and with amazing panoramic views of the lake and the peninsula of Bellagio.
