The town dates back to ancient origins and the harbour was very important during the Crusades. It was destroyed and then rebuilt by Carlo d'Angi? in 1277.
This is a typical seaside town with historic buildings such as the cathedral of San Nicola (13th century, rebuilt in the 16th century), with a portal flanked by columns and a Matroneo with small pillars and a chandelier. On the coastline is castle dating from 1200 with its characteristic square plan, and later fortified in between 1500-1600. We have some lovely Apulis Villas, apartments and Puglian holiday properties in this area.
Sorry, we do not yet have any properties for this area, but please check again soon.
Thank you.
