Authentic Italy organize Italian holiday villas, apartments and self catering accommodation for your vacation in Italy, whether this is staying in a Tuscany, Sicily or Sardinian Villa in the country or by the sea, or renting a Rome, Florence or Venice apartment in an historic setting near the city centre or in the suburbs. We specialize in the 'accommodation element' of the holiday in Italy.

We do not organise the travel element of the holiday, only the Italy holiday rental accommodation. However, our aim is to give superior customer service and to make the organisation of your vacation as simple and effective as possible and, at the same time, help you achieve the best value for the complete holiday. For this reason we came up with a simple checklist and links below so that you can be assured of organizing all the various elements of the holiday are coordinated and booked effectively to avoid disappointment:

1
Select preferred area of Italy
2
Choose location and villa/apartment (as well as 2nd and 3rd choice)
3
Check accommodation availability (and alternative dates)
4
Check flight availability or ferry crossing
5
Check car hire availability (if applicable)

If satisfied with the above:

1
Book accommodation
2
Await confirmation of accommodation
3
Book flights, ferry, train (as applicable subject to confirmation above)
4
Book hotels on route (if applicable)
5
Book car hire (if applicable)
6
Organise Insurance, breakdown cover, etc

Please note that it is sometimes possible to 'hold' flights, etc (such as through travel agents), until the confirmation of the accommodation booking is given. Also, please ensure that there is sufficient availability by booking as far in advance as possible.

Insurance

Insurance is an essential part of your holiday. Authentic Italy do not recommend a particular insurer but we must point out that having adequate insurance is your responsibility.

Your holiday insurance should be selected to cover accidents, cancellations and all the other conditions normally covered by holiday insurance. Authentic Holiday's responsibility is only connected with the accommodation and as specified in those points detailed in our comprehensive Terms and Conditions on this web-site.

Below are a number of alternative companies to choose from:
AA - Automobile Association
RAC - Royal Automobile Club
Travellersweb

Breakdown Cover

Adequate breakdown and recovery cover should be taken out if you are driving to Italy. We recommend using the AA or RAC:
AA - Automobile Association
RAC - Royal Automobile Club

Car Hire

There are a large number of car hire companies. Authentic Italy do not have a specific recommendation but do suggest that you choose a well known, preferably international, company for insurance and peace-of-mind reasons. Local companies can be difficult to work with if there are problems.

Please shop around since there is a large variation in prices dependent on the company, time of year, airports, late deals and so on.

Below we have given you some links to the more well-known sites as well as an independent web-site that looks for the best deals:

Avis
Hertz
