Bellagio is a gem at the apex of Lake Como, a very enchanting place where you can stroll between its once rose painted houses, and through the narrow and dark 'carrughi' arcades which are home to various shops and boutiques.

The town of Bellagio has been inhabited since prehistoric times and there was once a Roman settlement here and also mediaeval fortifications still exist. During the 18th century the aristocratracy of the Lombards built there villas here; Villa Trotti, Villa Melzi, Villa Giulia and Villa Serbelloni.
