The parish church of San Biagio, with its onion-shaped dome, dates from the Baroque period, while construction of the church of Madonna dell? Oliveto, situated in an elevated location, began in the year 1554. It was rebuilt in later years, and is famous for its elegant, Baroque belltower and for its precious organ, which was built in 1861 by N. Agati with the financial support of the community. The bridge over the Impero dates back to the late Middle Ages. The church of Sarola goes back to the 16th century, whereas the church at Olivastri dates from the following century. The agriculture of the area is dominated by olive trees, fruit and vegetable fields.
The region produces some very good wines and there are several olive oil producers. The small towns around Chiusavecchia have retained their original character. During the summer, festivals take place in the various villages, where the inhabitants gather in the squares for the communal celebrations.
