Alghero Apartments & Villas (Sardinia)

Alghero is on the top of a short peninsula in northern Sardinia, and is a pleasant small town facing a beautiful bay, with Capo Caccia at the other end. The old town is formed by old houses surrounded by a boundary wall with ramparts; outside the wall lie the modern districts.

The origin of the town is unknown and the first reliable information dates back to the 11th century when the Genoese fortified it. In the XIVth century the Spanish conquered the town and a Catalan colony settled there, establishing itself so well that even today in Alghero a dialect of Spanish is spoken and not the Sardinian language. This is one of the real fishing towns on the island, it has the biggest fleet of fishing boats and handmade production of ropes and beautiful coral objects.

Alghero is a great place to rent self catering Sardinia apartments and Sardinian holiday accommodation. You can choose from a wide selection of Alghero self catering villas and apartments to suit all your needs for an authentic holiday in Italy. Also, there is a beautiful neighbouring seaside area, which includes the "Spiaggia delle Bombarde" with a lovely white beach bordered by pine-woods. In the countryside we find the Nuraghe Palmavera, an interesting example of a Nuragic complex. Interesting place to visit is the Necropolis of Anghelu Ruju, one of the most important in Sardinia for both the quantity and quality of its findings. Porto Conte is a remarkable place, as too is the Grotte di Nettuno, a wide and complex cave with two inner lakes.

Sorry, we do not yet have any properties for this area, but please check again soon.

Thank you.
