Cala Gonone Area Information

Cala Gonone is approximately in the centre of the east coast of Sardinia and due east of the town of Nuoro. This is a bustling seaside resort located between the mountains and teh beautiful Mar Tirreno sea. It is a lovely place to rent a Sardinian Villa for your holiday by the turquoise blue seas that for which Sardinia is famous. This coast is also good for windsurfing and other sports combining teh sea and wind.

Cala Gonone combines its historical function as a fishing hamlet with its modern attraction as a holiday destination by the sea. The beaches are trully magnificent and we recommend renting a Sardinia seaside villa on this coast. Alternatively stay in a Sardinia apartment in one of the local towns so that you can potter around. From here you can visit the isolated coves of Cala Luna and Cala Sisine as well as the well known Grotta del Bue Marino; the latter only being reached by boat.

Other hamlets worth visiting in the area are Baunei, Urzulei and Santa Maria Navarrese. The coastal road has some breathtakinglandscapes and views. Certainly if you would like a Sardinia beach holiday for relaxation and exploring then Cala Gonone should be on your short list.
