Costa Rei Area Information

Costa Rei is a wonderful seaside resort facing east towards the 'Mar Tirreno' (Tyhrennian Sea) on the saouth east part of Sardinia. The area is well known for its lovely and beautiful fine, white sandy beach, about 8 km long. This coastal area can also get quite windy and is popular with wind surfers. The sea is also very clear and clean making it ideal for a family beach holiday. It is a great place to rent a Sardinia beach villa or holiday apartment.

Costa Rei's beach is a popular destination for both diving and windsurfing lovers due to the constantly blowing wind. Nearby are Cala Sinzias and Capo Ferrato, also with their long beaches with reefs, islets and bays. Capo Ferrato's promontory is characterised by dark volcanic rocks as well as sandy beaches. Other popular beaches are Cala Pira, a small inlet with rocky reefs, and Porto Pirastu, another promontory with rcky reefs and surrounded by pine forest.

A specific attraction worth visiting is the important settlement called "Nuraghe Scalas", the most well preserved settlement in all Sardinia with its 42 menhirs, 2 of which have an anthropomorphic shape.
