Costa Smeralda Area Information

The Costa Smeralda was developed by a group of businessmen in the 1950's as a holiday destination and playground for the wealthy. This area known as the 'Emerald Coast' stretches from the Golfo di Cugnana to the Golfo di Arzachena. The main town is called Porto Cervo where you can see the rich and famous wlak alongside other wealthy people, some stunnign Sardinian villas, and of course, the necessary yachts and motor launches at anchor off the coastline.

Unsurprisingly Porto Cervo hoasts many boutiques, restaurants, bars and upmarket commerical premises. The area caters for the very seriously rich no matter their nationalities. The Costa Smeralda is in fact a lovely coastline of about 55 km with beautiful sandy beaches and rocky outcrops along which are nestled little villages. There is the famous Pervero golf club for Golf fanatics and also private jet access in Olbia, and a helicopter service for the wealthy American, European, Russian, and Middle Eastern VIPs.

Other twons besides the main holiday town of Porto cervo with its lovely Sardinian Villas and apartments, are Arzachena, Olbia (the main port with services to mainland Italy), Liscia di Vacca, Capriccioli and Romazzino. If you liek sailing then there is an annual regatta in September known as the 'Sardinia Cup sailing regatta'.

Whether you are wealthy or just 'better off' Authentic Italy offer a range of Sardinia Villas and Sardinia Apartments for your holiday rental in and around the area of Porto cervo on the north east sardinian coast.
