Trapani Apartments & Villas (Sicily)

The name Trapani comes from an ancient word for 'hook' which is reflected in shape of its harbour. Former names include Drepano, Drepanon and Drepanum. Trapani was founded by the Sicanians and later colonised by the Elimi for the use of Erice's port. In 241 BC the coastl waters were the scene of an epic sea battle between the Carthaginians and the conquering Romans and this was considered a turning point in Rome's conquest of the central Mediterranean.

Trapani in Sicily has some of the most beautiful sunsets over the Mediterranean due to its westerly location. The surrounding coastal plain has rich salt deposits. This is a lovely place to rent a villa in sicily or a holiday apartment in Sicily.
