Camaiore is an interesting market town with historic churches. Situated at the foot of the Apuan Alps in Tuscany, it is just ten minutes by car from Peralta, a beautiful, peaceful, medieval hamlet which was restored over a period of thirty years with great love and imagination by international sculptor Fiore de Henriquez. She created a place that is quite unique. Peralta?s commanding hillside position gives it stunning panoramic views over the valley to the sea beyond. Surrounded by terraces of olive groves, and with orange and lemon trees, bougainvilliers, jasmin and others covering the stone walls, Peralta seems like paradise. Fiore?s sculpture (which can be seen all through the hamlet), and the manner in which she designed and restored Peralta, give it very special character and atmosphere.
