Fucecchio Apartments & Villas (Tuscany)
Fucecchio is located halfway between Pisa and Florence, not far from Empoli and San Miniato in northern Tuscany. The origins of the town date back to the 10th century. The Rocca Fiorentina, rises up from the foundations of the ancient Salamarzana Castle, and today it dominates historic town centre from the hill where it is situated. This was an important location because it is close to the Bonfiglio bridge where the Francigena Road crossed the Arno river and it is a great area to rent Tuscany holiday apartments or Tuscany Villas.
The economy of the town is mainly based on tourism thanks to the richness of vegetation and fauna of the area and the beauty of its landscapes. Today the main part of Fucecchio is a protected natural reserve. There is an annual horse race between the districts on the second sunday of June.
